Things You Need To Know Before Wearing High Heeled Shoes

High heeled shoes are a necessity for every woman’s wardrobe. They enable you walk with an air of class and authority. Even if you’re not a fan of stilettos, you should definitely possess a pair of shoes that are not completely flat. Here are a few tips to help you wear those high heels properly
How To Pick The Right High Heels For You

1,Narrow heels and stilettos look best on people with a more slender build, and with fashions that are lean and slimming. People with heavier builds should look at platforms or thicker heels to keep things looking balanced and proportional.
2, Pick your color and style. Basic black is the classic look for a high heeled shoe or boot, but brighter colours can be worn too.
3, Get the right fit. Due to the stresses of wearing heels, make sure that the shoe really fits! Take your time about trying them on, and once you have a pair that you like, spend some time in them in the store. Stand in them; if there are any problems, your feet will tell you rather quickly.
An important test is to stand on the floor in the shoes with your knees straight. Now try to raise yourself on your toes so there’s at least an inch of space under the heels. If you can’t do that, the heels are too high, and you shouldn’t wear them; you’ll end up walking and standing with your knees bent.
4, Practice walking around at home before wearing your heels out. Let your feet get used to them slowly; try to wear them for 15-30 minutes at a time, then take them off and take a break.
5,Try to minimize the amount of time that you wear your high heels, especially if you are doing lots of walking. Most harm to feet, knees and back come from regular long-term use of walking in high heels. When you are done wearing your heels, spend a few minutes to give your feet a massage.
6, Styles with a slight platform under the toe area tend to be more comfortable as they minimize the angle and pressure on the ball of the foot.
How to Walk Properly In High Heels
1, Start small. If you’ve never walked in high heels before, don’t start out learning with 5 inch stilettos – that’s a recipe for pain and maybe even injury! Try something smaller, like a 2 inch heel or wedge to get used to the feeling. You can always work your way up to your most killer heels.
2, Walk heel to toe, not toe to heel. While it might be tempting to put your whole foot down at once, don’t do it – it makes your walk look strange when you’re wearing high shoes. Instead, put your heel down first, followed by your toe. This will give you more balance and make your stride look more natural.
3, Take small steps. Wearing heels naturally makes your stride shorter, so you’ll need to take more steps than usual. Don’t expect to be able to walk as fast as you normally do in high heels.
4, Step as if you were walking on a straight line. When you walk with one foot in front of the other, it gives your hips the sway that models are known for. Pretend you’re walking on a line on the ground, one foot in front of the other, or practice on an actual straight line at a basketball court or on a line in the floor.
5, Watch how models do it. Download a video of a fashion show on YouTube and watch the professionals strut in their high heels. While models walk the runway in a way that’s exaggerated from real life, you can learn from their walks and tone it down a little to get the perfect normal-person strut. Practice in front of a mirror until you get it down.
6, Practice… Then practice some more. At the end of the day, the best way to become a pro at walking in high heels is to do it as often as possible. Practice walking on carpet, slippery floors, up stairs, and outside. No amount of reading how to do it will make a difference if you don’t work at it. Walking in high heels is like any other skill – you need to do it a lot to get good at it.
